The first weekend in May the families of Vita Nova took part in a camping adventure at Turkey Run State Park. Although we had planned to camp on Friday night, severe weather caused us to depart on Saturday morning. While we did not get to have the experience of tent-camping overnight, we enjoyed many activities on Saturday. As the pictures below will attest, we had a great time experiencing a beautiful corner of God's creation and getting to know one another on a deeper level.
Setting up tents, starting a fire for lunch, and making our camp t-shirts
Steve Hawkins gives instructions to our students about how to act in a camp and in a state park.
Chili and grilled hot dogs make a perfect lunch...plenty of energy for running around!
We head out on a hike, across a suspension bridge, and over Sugar Creek to where we learn about the glacier-shaped rock formations and prehistoric plant life that is unique to Turkey Run.
